This is my first round , what are the top players doing? Just securing thier economy the entire game? sounds boring, but if you want to be #1 i guess theres nothing wrong with that.
Chronocide, usually there are two alliances... like 7-11 and 5-8 people. They fight each other.
The round when the whole alliance plays, the largest alliance wins. Mostly.
If you are going to be #1 you need to chose one of these 2 alliances and fight on their side.
The other way is to form your own alliance and get there some newbies to fight for your rights.

It would be more balanced if the better players, who are usually on an alliance with each other, created their own individual alliance and battled it out with each other. This would make the game funner for y'all and would end the complaint that there is not enough competition in the game. The competition is out there, but instead of competing y'all make alliances. This is just my opinion from a weaker p.o.v., though.
we have 2 big alliances, when one alliance is crushed, the other alliance doesnt want to split because they rose to the top TOGETHER, so why should they prevail alone?

i think they should break up in to seperate alliances, and then pick up apprentices like a chinese dojo where the newbies learn from the big guys or something.
Start showing these new guys how to fight a war, then we might actually get some competition out of this game.
problem with some newbies is they dont want to give time to learn. its hard to find a dedicated student. i think we need another thread for those who want to be apprentice.
it is good if we can have many good players.
i want to be apprentice of enclave.

he means he wants you to teach him how to play, and all the newbies need to find another good player to teach them how to play because he already claimed you. lol.

like citz said... its hard to find a good apprentice... i remember one time i took a bunch of noobs into my alliance and told all of them exactly how to play... they all still suck.... but sometimes you get lucky... like new_era did with avatar.... avatar started out and he was really dedicated.... so with the help from a couple pro's.... he quickly rose to the top

I would just like to clarify that is was drummer that took the time to theach me how to play.
and i also seem to remember a time when i took a noob under my wing, his name was fieryfenyx, now fenyx, ah, that was so long ago... they learned more from other ppl tho, i suck, lol

haha i learned from a lot of people... confucious told me about the game/the basics... then i learned a lot from gateway and drummer... when zaraz came BACK up, i learned a lot from dragon and van (van taught me a nice suicide tactic )...then when i thought i'd become really good... new_era and macleod became my allies and we had a good run while i tried desperately to beat them (i failed )... then i learned some long-term strategy ideas from karn/dp.... after that panic indirectly taught me a few things i should've known before... and now im just kinda playing on my own trying to figure out a few things... but yeah, that's basically my story.... if you didnt care... you didnt have to read it

he left cuz of me, seriously... something happened back long ago on blitz, he was my greatest ally, but something happened, i'm not even sure what anymore, but it was big enough to make him leave, it's all my fault.

I do think that taking newbies into alliances is something cool. I have been in this game for 2 rounds now in blitz. I have been with Citz alliance and he's been giving me pointers on how to play the game....I think i'll get better on this game in a few more rounds...hehe...
